Lighthouse Kids

Every Sunday during the school terms from 9am – 10.30am

Burdekin Community Church Lighthouse Kids

Lighthouse Kids was created with the vision of showing children God’s love through both words and actions, encouraging them to be His lights in their community.

Each week, around 5 to 20 primary school-age children, aged 4 to 13, attend Lighthouse Kids during the Sunday morning service. These sessions focus on helping children develop a personal relationship with God. School-aged children engage in child-centred worship, games and a main Bible teaching. The goal is to present God’s truth in a fun and interactive way.

For more information on Lighthouse Kids, contact Pastor Peter at the Church via email at office@bcchurch.net.au

Crossfire Youth

Every Friday during the school terms from 6.30pm – 8.30pm

It’s no secret that today’s youth need as much positive support as ever. At Crossfire Youth, we aim to provide the encouragement and guidance they need to navigate these challenging years, letting them know they have a community that genuinely cares about their safety and future.

Crossfire Youth has two main goals. First, it offers a safe and supportive environment where young people from all backgrounds can connect and build friendships outside of school. Events like Slime Night, Master Chef, and Crossfire’s Got Talent are just a few of our favourite themed nights.

Second, we focus on learning about God. Each week, we explore God’s word, uncovering key biblical truths that help young people discover their God-given identity and learn how to stand strong in their community.

Cherish Women

Monthly at various locations around the Burdekin

Cherish is the Women’s Ministry of Burdekin Community Church, focused on God and the women of the Burdekin and beyond. Cherish brings together women to be blessed, encouraged, and inspired, so they can, in turn, bless, encourage, and inspire others in their world.

Cherish events take place monthly at various locations around the Burdekin, featuring a mix of preaching, informal gatherings, and social outings, such as High Teas and International Dinners. Each year, Cherish hosts the Radiant Women’s Conference—an incredible weekend where women gather to encounter God, receive His blessings, and enrich their lives.

Women of all ages, backgrounds, and life stages are warmly invited to attend Cherish events and the Radiant Conference.

Men’s Ministry

Events hosted throughout the year

In our church and community, we need warriors, not those who stir up trouble or make life difficult for others, but God’s warriors who are committed to fighting for their families, communities, and the moral fabric of our society. These warriors understand the Word of God, and they are ready to stand up for what is true and honourable, displaying strength, boldness, and faith.

At Burdekin Community Church, our men’s ministry, Warriors, is dedicated to equipping men to be all they can be in God. With His help, we can become faithful husbands, devoted fathers, and men of integrity and character. Throughout the year, we host events for men of all ages, focused on equipping them to be men of God. From teaching sessions to social gatherings like hangis, camps, and fishing trips, we aim to do life together as men, encouraging and supporting each other in our Christian walk while serving God and being positive examples in our church, families, and workplaces. Join us and become a Warrior!

Burdekin Christian College

Burdekin Christian College

CHARACTER, WISDOM + DISCIPLINE for tomorrow's leaders

At Burdekin Christian College, we believe that learning involves students, parents, and teachers working together. We strive to support families and reinforce Biblical values, morals, discipline, and standards of conduct. We are committed to preparing children to be responsible and positive contributors to society by offering individual attention and personal care, ensuring their academic success as well as their spiritual, social, mental and physical development.

About our College

Burdekin Christian College began in 1982 and is located at the corner of Melbourne and Chippendale Streets in Ayr, North Queensland. Thanks to the availability of underground water, the grounds are always lush and green. The College comprises both a school (BCC) and an Early Learning Child Care Centre (ELC).

The school serves over 150 students from Prep to Year 12, while the ELC offers programs for Toddlers, Kindy and Prep-Preppers. The Early Learning Child Care Centre is licensed for 34 students, including 10 toddlers (15 months to 3 years) and 21 Kindy/Pre-Prep children (3 years to school age). It operates 50 weeks a year from 7am to 6pm and provides before and after school care.
